With its rugged undulating savannahs, low limestone hills knitted together with fields of maize, empty beaches, crazy top-hat-roofed thatched clan houses and prehistoric cultures, the island of Sumba in East Nusa Tenggara Province offers its own distinct splendors, unlike Indonesia’s northern volcanic islands. It lies to the east of Bali but strangely very few tourists visit this island and those who do make the trip here are usually surfers, as Sumba has a surprising surf scene. As if that wasn’t a good enough reason to visit Sumba, one can also take the opportunity to learn more about the local culture which allows you a fascinating look at structures like megalithic tombs around West Sumba’s capital of Waikabubak, and watches unique rituals and traditions following the ancient Marapu belief. If you want to explore a different side of this massive archipelago then this is one spot not to miss in your Indonesia Tour itinerary.

Nusa Islands

Whether you’ve been to Bali earlier or want to break from the chaos of the mainland, why not explore its beyond? With impressive natural wonders, beautiful lagoons, powdery beaches, and much less of Bali’s overly-touristy scene, the string of three islands of Nusa – Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan off the coast of Bali let you beat the crowd in peace and serenity. Nusa Lembongan is the most famous, but each island has its own specialty, which are perfect for diving, snorkeling due to splendid underwater scenes beneath the ocean’s calm, translucent surface. Don’t miss cliff-jumping in Nusa Ceningan, crossing the yellow bridge between Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan, and admiring the iconic Kelingking Beach at Nusa Penida while holidaying in this part of Indonesia.

There’s a magic about this charming kingdom that casts a spell on visitors for sure. Planning to visit this magical country in order to marvel at top Cambodia attractions? Of course, your travel plan is incomplete unless you have a visa to Cambodia.

If you don’t know much about Cambodia Visa and how to get one for you, then search here as Trawell.in has put together a list of things you must do to get a tourist visa for Cambodia as an Indian.

Cambodia Visa

Indian citizens, who want to visit the Kingdom of Cambodia for tourist purpose, need a visa in order to get a legal entry in the country. As of 26th March 2019, about 60 countries and territories offer visa-free or Visa on Arrival access for Indian nationals. Luckily, Cambodia is one among them which offers Visa on Arrival and e-Visa facility for Indians. Cambodia does grant Visa on Arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport and Siem Reap International Airport. If you’re crossing from Thailand, you can get your visa at Poipet Banteay Meanchey and Cham Yeam Check-Points while those who are coming from Vietnam through Bavet should obtain their visas before arriving through a Cambodian Embassy or an overseas Consulate.

Visa Types & Requirements

There are three ways by which Indian can get a Tourist Visa to The Kingdom of Cambodia. 1

1.Visa on Arrival

Indian passport holders who are visiting Cambodia for Tourism purpose can avail the Visa on Arrival after landing in Cambodia. It is ideal for Indian tourists who wish to explore the country within 30 days as part of Cambodia Packages. One can get a Cambodia Visa on Arrival at the visa counters in Phnom Penh International Airport, Siem Reap International Airport and Sihanoukville International Airport by providing a valid passport and other relevant documents. It costs about USD 30 which can be paid by cash (better to carry cash as there are no ATMs in Siem Reap or Phnom Penh Airports).  If you’re coming here by road, the Cambodia-Thailand Border and Cambodia-Laos Border offer checkpoints for your visa collection while those who are coming from Vietnam through Bavet should obtain their visas before arriving through a Cambodian Embassy or an overseas Consulate.

The Cambodia Visa on Arrival is valid for 3 months from the date of issue, but the duration of stay is restricted to 30 days for a single entry. Depending on the passenger traffic, the process can take anywhere between 15 minutes to an hour.  If an applicant would like to stay more than 30 days, he/she can request for an extension of visa directly at the Immigration Counter outside Phnom Penh International Airport by paying an additional amount of USD 25. This visa can be extended only once for another 30 days.

Here is the list of documents required for Visa on Arrival

  • Indian Passport with at least six months validity on the date of entry into Cambodia
  • Two recently taken 4 x 6 cm photograph on a white background
  • Duly filled and signed the visa application form
  • USD 30 Visa fee in cash
  • Confirmed Return Flight Ticket. If you intend to return by road, do carry a covering letter mentioning the same with a valid visa for the next country, which can be Vietnam or Thailand.
  • Confirmed Hotel booking or accommodation
  • Bank / Credit Card statements or at least USD 500 in cash as a proof of sufficient funds for 15 days.

2. Electronic Visa or e-Visa

This is by far the best way to get a Cambodia Visa for Indian Tourists. Effective since 2016, the e-Visa is a document that granted online through the web-based visa system. This type of visa is issued only for Short Visits to Cambodia for tourism, casual visits, short duration medical treatment, or short business visit. It can be applied online before you travel to Cambodia by visiting the official embassy or consulate website https://www.evisa.gov.kh/, register an account, fill up the visa form with appropriate details, upload a face shot of yourself (either JPG or PNG) and make the necessary payment of USD 36 with a valid credit card. Once your e-Visa is approved and you receive it on your email address, take a print of it. It takes a maximum of three days, but many applicants get their approved visa within 24 hours.

Upon arrival, e-Visa holders fill in an entry/exit card and submit it to the immigration officer along with the valid passport and printout of e-Visa at the airport. The Cambodian e-Visa is valid for 3 months from the date of issue, but the duration of stay is restricted to 30 days for a single entry. It can be extended once by 30 more days at the Cambodian National Police Immigration Department, Phnom Penh. Also, the good part about the e-Visa is that even if your trip gets postponed by a bit, you can always change the date of arrival and departure as long as it is within the validity of the e-Visa and lesser than 30 days.

Here is the list of documents needed for e-Visa

  • A scanned copy of the passport that is valid for 6 months from the planned date of arrival in Cambodia
  • A scanned or digital format of your photo, which must be less than 1 MB. Acceptable image formats are BMP, PNG, or JPEG
  • A credit card to pay the visa fee online.

The e-Visa holders can enter Cambodia through Phnom Penh International Airport, Sihanoukville Airport, Siem Reap International Airport, two Thailand border crossings – Cham Yeam (Koh Kong) and Poi Pet (the nearest overland crossing from Bangkok, across from Aranyaprathet), one Vietnam border crossing – Bavet (Moc Bai), located in the midpoint between Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and one Laos border crossing – Tropaeng Kreal Border Post (Stung Treng).

3. Visa in Advance

Besides Visa on Arrival and e-Visa, Indian Tourists can get their visas prior to their journey by applying at the Royal Embassy of Cambodia located in New Delhi, India. Since the first two options are the easiest, we would recommend you go with one of those.

Why Post-Monsoon is the best time to explore Himalayan Trails?

Post_Monsoon_Himalayas

Are you planning to explore the prolific Himalayan trails this monsoon? If so, you might be missing out on many amazing things that post-monsoon months offer. You may be tempted to witness the alpine snow glaciers in the month of June or July but the post-monsoon season has the completely unique side to it. Moreover, there will be fewer risks while climbing trails.

Here we talk about the best treks and the reasons to explore these trails in post-monsoon.

Reasons to plan a post-monsoon trek in the Himalayas

After the monsoon, the Himalayan valleys or mountains throw off their snow blanket and come to life. The following are some reasons to prove that post-monsoon trekking is the best in Himalayan ranges.

1.There is no haze to interrupt your views

After the monsoon, the sheet of haze disappears, giving you uninterrupted views of the clear blue skies. The majestic mountains are also visible clearly around you while offering you spectacular sights of sunsets that are not visible in monsoon.

2.Post-monsoon Himalayas become a photographer’s paradise

If you delay your trekking plan to Rupin or Hampta Pass from May or June to September, you will be exposed to the colourful side of these wondrous places. You will clearly see the rich green valleys with wildflowers and bursting bright colours, especially during sunset and sunrise.

3.Best time for astrophotography

Because of clear and star-filled skies at night, you can work on astrophotography. Post-monsoon is definitely the best time that gives you a clear window to shoot magnificent night views with a full display of the milky-way that is not visible during monsoon.

4.Less challenges

Trekking in post-monsoon season has its advantages. Unlike treks in spring or early summer, there will be lack of heavy snow on the trails leading up to the mountain passes which will allow an easier traverse across the otherwise difficult terrain.

Trekking in the Himalayas in monsoons has its fair share of challenges such as the possibility of landslides which will hamper your trek. They will lead to obstacles on your trekking trail as well as on the roads. So, you often have to keep an eye on such natural calamities which will keep you from enjoying your trek to the fullest. The constant rainfall in monsoons will render the trail extremely slippery. Thus, the trek will appear more difficult than it actually is. Post-monsoon will significantly reduce the chances of a cloudburst which is usually common in monsoons.

The fewer challenges presented because of any natural calamities makes the post-monsoon trek the best to witness a superb display of Himalayan trails.

5.Trekking becomes easier

As the weather changes soon after rains, the trek instantly becomes a grade easier. Besides the clear weather, the pathways will be more accessible and travel-friendly which otherwise is difficult and demanding than you may have imagined.

Best Himalayan Treks to Explore Post Monsoon Season

Here is a list of some breathtaking Himalayan treks to visit after the rainy season.

1.Rupin Pass Trek

Situated at a wicked height of 15,250 ft, the Rupin Pass Trek is the best trail to explore after the monsoon. This trek starts from Dhaula region in Uttrakhand and ends in Sangla in Himachal Pradesh. Because of the crossover, you can witness diversified sceneries, as well as sudden terrain variations. Post-monsoon, the water level of the famous three-stage waterfall of Rupin increases significantly thus showing the true glory of this natural wonder. The clear skies, extravagant meadows dotted with pretty flowers and mountain landscapes are best witnessed after the rains. That’s why this trek must be in your post-monsoon bucket list.

Check Rupin pass trek itinerary here.

2.Hampta Pass Trek

Nestled at an altitude of 13,900 ft, Hampta Pass lies on the Pir Panjal range in Indian Himalayas. This pass is a corridor between Kullu valley and Lahaul and Spiti in Himachal Pradesh. The trek takes you through tranquil alpine forests and calm glaciers that lead your way to Hampta Pass and the pristine Chandratal Lake. After the monsoon, you can experience wondrous sights of scenic landscapes, colorful flora and fauna, glacial valleys, rock-strewn territories, and gushing waterways. Thereby bringing the trail to life and splendor.

3.Goecha La Trek

Experience the sensuous spirit of Sikkim by visiting the gorgeous Goecha La Trek that stands at a height of 15,100 feet. While passing through the trail in post-monsoon, you’ll be able to clearly witness the massive Mt. Kanchenjunga, third highest mountain in the world, and Mt. Pandim at its best. You will further move to see the splendid tear-shaped Samiti Lake, along with the awe-striking sunsets and sunrises, verdant Himalayan forests, rhododendrons, colourful flowers, meadows and more. This amazing trek also offers the stunning view of fourteen peaks that are visible from Dzongri top especially post-monsoon when the views are unobstructed and much more vibrant. Lying in the Kanchenjunga National Park, the Goecha La trek will take you through some of the greenest regions of the Himalayas especially post-monsoon.

4.Bhrigu Lake Trek

Located at an altitude of 14,100 feet in Kullu district in Himachal Pradesh, Bhrigu Lake Trek is actually a short trek to the east of Rohtang Pass. The sacred Bhrigu Lake is said to change colors every season, which means that the lake post-monsoon will be completely different compared to the spring, summer or monsoon months. Surely, it will much more alluring with a thicker and gorgeous carpet of meadows leading up to the lake. The trek offers the best views of Pir Panjal Range and Dhauladhar ranges.

5.Bali Pass Trek

Bali Pass Trek lies at a height of about 16,207 feet in Har Ki Dun valley in Uttrakhand. The exhilarating trail alongside Supin River offers 360-degree spectacular views of Kalanag, Bandarpoonch, and Swargarohini peaks. It is best to go on this trek after the monsoon if you want to witness all these peaks without any fog interrupting your view. The trail also traverses the confluence Ruinsara and Tons rivers moving with undisturbed serenity of exuberant meadows of Ruinsara Valley and Devsu Thach. Due to significantly fewer levels of snow at Bali Pass post-monsoon, the trek becomes less difficult while painting an entirely different picture of the trail which is guaranteed to leave you speechless.

Thus, Post-monsoon is certainly the best time to witness some of the spectacular Himalayan trails and views that are beyond your expectations. After all, you don’t want to complete a trek without witnessing the full glory of these valleys and soaring high mountain ranges. Isn’t it?

But nowadays, as more airlines are offering some excellent services, pet owners are happy to travel with their dogs during the flight. As per the Trip Advisor’s survey, 53% of 1000 people said that they love to carry their pets in the flight. In short, pet travel is increasing day by day.

While traveling with your most faithful companion, ensure the safety of your dog. Recently, we have seen the death of many dogs during the flight. So, it is necessary for you to keep your dog in a safe and secure condition.

Inside this article, we are going to discuss the safety tips that you must know and follow while carrying your dog with the flight. So, what are you waiting for? Let us start our discussion.

1. Have a perfect crate

Following are the things that you have to consider while buying a crate for your dog that can be used during the air travel:

  • Look for a crate that has a large size so that your dog can easily stand or sit in it.
  • Have a container that has absorbent material at the bottom.

Your dog may get pesky due to the noise in the cargo area. In this condition, make sure that your dog is behaving normally.

So, having a suitable crate for your dog not only ensures his or her safety but also gives it comfort.

2. Put food and water inside the crate

Your dog will be in the cargo area during the air flight. So, in the mid-flight, if it needs food or water then, what you will do? In this case, you have to put some food and water inside the crate in a small plastic bag. Outside the crate, leave instructions about how to feed your dog.

So, if someone noticed that your dog is hungry; then, the employees in the cargo area will feed your dog. Also, keep small toys that your dog likes inside the crate.

One additional thing to make sure your dog is secure is to attach a public note outside the crate. It can help you in finding your dog in case the crate gets lost.

3. Know the temperament of your dog

Booking a direct flight is always beneficial for you and your dog. It may cost you a few bucks more, but it saves both time and efforts of changing flights. So, you can handle your dog without any worries.

But at the same time, booking a direct flight of more than 5 to 6 hours can be harmful to your dog’s health.

Does your dog have a temperament of sitting at one place for 5 to 6 hours? So, considering your dog’s temperament and behavior, you have to book a plane ticket.

4. Book the dog-friendly airlines

Different airlines have different rules for pet travel. One thing that you must take care of is to read the rules and guidelines of the particular airline before booking the ticket.

Reading the guidelines will help you in knowing all the necessary information such as cost of traveling with your pet, when to arrive at your airport, cargo area temperatures, the weight limit of the pet, etc.

If you have studied all these factors thoroughly and booked the flight ticket, you will not face any difficulty while traveling with your pet.

Many air companies don’t allow you to travel with your pet if you violate their rules. You may be thinking which is the best airline for carrying your dog without any issues?

Well, we have found the perfect answer to this question. Pet Airways is the unique airline that carries pets via a flight. The best thing about the petairways.com that it is the world’s leading airline for taking pets all across the globe.

5. Check the temperature conditions in the cargo area

The most crucial safety tip while traveling with your dog is to check the temperature of the cargo area in which your dog is to be kept.  Generally, the temperature of the cargo area inside the plane lies between 5º to 35º.

In some situations, you may find that temperature is very less and your dog can’t face the extreme temperatures changes in the cargo. The behavior of your dog at different temperatures is also an essential factor that you have to keep in mind while traveling via plane.

6. Feed your dog properly

You must concern about your dog’s health during the flight. Feeding your dog 4 to 6 hours before the plane is the best thing that you can do. Giving a light meal to your dog is the best deal, and by doing this, you can avoid any surprise poop during the flight.

Some airlines may demand health certificate of your dog before the plane takes off. Some airlines can ask you rabies vaccinations certificate of your dog.

7. Know the breed of your dog

Do you know that airline has restricted some races of the dogs? Airlines have restricted all the snub-nosed breeds of the dogs. These snub-nosed breeds may suffer from Cancer and other health diseases when carried in the plane.

Below is the list of dogs that are not allowed in American Airlines:

•    Boxer

•    Pug

•    American Bulldog

•    King Charles Spaniel

•    Shar-Pei

•    Shih Tzu

•    Lhasa Apso

As per the airline, the restriction on the breed types of dogs may vary.

8. What is the weight of your dog?

Airlines do not allow dogs in the cabins whose weight is more than 20 lbs. So, if you are carrying your dog in the cabin then, make sure its weight is less than 20 lbs. But airline carriers allow some exceptions to these rules. Southwest airline does not have any restriction on the weight of your dog. That means you can carry a dog without looking at its weight.

9. Know the pick-up and drop-off locations

Another important safety tip that you must know is aware of the pick-up and drop-off locations. Most of the time we know where to drop our dog during the take-off time but, we don’t know where to pick them. So, it is highly recommended to ask the airline employees about both these locations. For example, if you’re flying with United Airlines, then remember the United Airline ticket number to make sure you can find your dog easily. Knowing these locations will help you in finding your dog at the cargo.

Whether booking a flight for yourself or flying with a dog, take assistance on flight booking and other travel related queries from the Faremart.com which a robust booking platform that has access to nearly 450 airlines and helps travelers with their air journeys.

10. Be in touch with the flight attendant

You may be feeling very safe about your dog, but who knows what can happen with him or her inside the cargo. Your dog may want to eat food or may want to go to the bathroom. To ensure all the things are going perfectly with your dog, ask the flight attendant about your dog condition. Most of the airlines are good at their customer service, and the flight attendant can check the security and behavior of your dog whenever you ask them.

Conclusion:-

Dogs are our faithful companions, and their safety during the flight must be our main priority. In this article, we have shared some safety tips that you must know while traveling with your dog. If you follow the above tips, then you can ensure the safety of your dog in the next flight.
